The VROA has an oportunitiy to make some history for the club.
Steve Fuller and I have talked to Maurice about having a race night at Springport in August were the VROA would run two feature races in one night.
Maurice thinks it would be a good idea.
This is an event that the CVM has done for years in Ontario and it goes over very well.
Here is the plan;
1. The VROA would be the first race of the night with a 25 lap feature.
Pay out would be from Springport Speedway per the contract.
Normal start position based on qualifying position with an extra $50.00 going to the FAST $50 QUALIFIER
2. The VROA would then have a second 25 lap feature as the last race of the night. The field will be a full invert base on your finish in the first race.
Pay off would be from sponsors and individual lap sponsors or friend of the VROA.
Anyone or any Corporation can sponsor laps for $5.00 each lap.
We will have a flyer to hand out with lap sponsors on it.
The payout is totally based on sponsors so every team will be required to get sponsors for the show.
The idea is if one driver can win both races there would be an additional pay out to the winner of $500.00 based on sponsorship.
This would be a yearly event, and the TRADITION begins!!!!!!
The race will be called the VROA TWIN 25's GIVE BACK TO THE FANS.
The crowd will LOVE it and it will be fun for the drivers.
The announcer will build the hype during the races prior to this event.
QUESTION to the TEAMS?
How many teams are willing to participate in the type of an event.
I need car owners to answer.
Name and Car number.
Answer here in this forum so everyone can see Please.
Call or email me with any quaetions about this event idea.
Thanks

Brad:
The idea sounds greeeat!!!
I've already indicated to you and everyone else that my participation in VROA this year is somewhat dependent on business.
So, the two recitals above should answer your question on my committment.
Secondly, given the monetary potential that appears to come with this idea, could we eliminate these two races from the points race?

Typically this is part of the points races.
The sponsors dictate the outcome for potential.
But as always we can vote on this. (points or not)
Thanks for your reply Fred. |

Brad:
Let me add one other point ("twist" or idea) to your Twin feature event.
The VROA could consider using the Twin feature races as part of a special points series separate from the regular series, then, as a "wild card" anyone (regulars, or visiting carowners/drivers, could add points to that series from any other three (3) VROA races that they participate in.
The eligible wild card races could also include races scheduled after the season begins and the schedule, including "predetermined" rain dates, has been printed.
I think everyone knows how I feel about adding points races during the season, and the question of the equity issue here as it, in particular, effects the first, second and third place contenders.
And, again, although I feel your concept here is outstanding and another example of Brad Perry's progressive and exciting approach to auto racing; TRY TO AVOID BACK-TO-BACK RACE SCHEDULES!
I don't care how much car-count expectations and enthusiasm exists at monthly club meetings, our organization needs to adhere to race schedule spacing or everyone suffers!
Thanks!

The idea of a Twin 25 sounds great, I think it should be a points race with
qualifing points no heats and combined feature points. |

I have been following your off season chat and schedule and ideas floating on the vroa discussion forum.Brad is doing just what ever good organization needs. Some one to promote there product and sell it to the race fans and tracks. The calenders where a great idea. Now You are raising money for twin 25.(selling laps).your points fund is more now, than it has ever been and still adding.Because of the members and your initiative this could very well be the best year in the VROA.
You all need a pat on the back For this and your up and coming year.
all the best in 2010 !!!!!!!!!
Fraser Motorsports
Dan & Rodney
ps..As long as you all think in the best intrest of the vroa and keep the vroa growing and attracting new members and fans and car count..it will be a Win Win thing for everyone.Vroa has a Great product in michigan!
....SO dig in and Sell the hell out of it! |

HOW MANY WAYS CAN A PERSON SAY YES? I WILL CLAIM ALL OF THEM FOR THIS!
I know that I'm not the car owner but I get the sponsors for the #3 car. I know that Dale would be all in on this one. Congratulations on another great job and thank you for your service.
Just a comment and I mean no offense. I know that in a perfect world race dates separated by at least one weekend would be great. It's not a perfect world. We are subject to promoters wants and needs. I am unsure of my schedule for the summer but I'll try my very best to be at every race. If I can't make it Dale will get someone else to drive. We have to do all that we can do to make this the best year. That is all anyone can ask of anyone else...the best that they can do.
Fred you know by now that many of us are there to help if needed. Keep your chin up and I hope you get so busy that you have to take a day off to race. Good luck to all for 2010. I can't wait!!!

Lou:
No it's not a perfect world, but after eight years will the VROA, Inc., and having had the experiences of listening to at least four different, long time
car owners lament back-to-back weekend race schedules and lower than hoped for car counts, there becomes a time to say no to some race date offerings.
As for my professional business success, as always, I appreciate your kind encouragement! and I hope that in fact, as you suggested in your e-mail, that that success level becomes so great that it has to be interupted so I can fit race schedules into my life! It sounds good Lou.
I hope your getting accustomed to your new business regiment as well. Because of the economy, many of us are finding ourselves being reinvented.
Take Care Lou!
